We have 2 servers that we need to keep sync'ed up at all times. PeerSync with ByteReplication seems like it would do exactly that. My question is, to beable to use the ByteReplicator service what would you have to buy?

Also, I have downloaded the trial with the byteReplicator and installed it on the server. I have also installed the Listener on the other server. I had it previously set up to transfer and check the files via FTP. How can you tell if you have it set up correctly? How do you tell if it is working?
Thanks,
Scott Carter

benchmarkrs,
For file synchronization with byte level replication between 2 servers you would require 2 PeerSync servers and 2 ByteReplicator connections.
The PeerSync server will be installed on both servers and the PSListener (ByteReplicator agent) will also be installed on both servers.
When you purchased the above items (or trial them) your download link will lead you to a page were you can download the PeerSync and the PSListener install.
Both of these applications should be running as a service on both servers.
You would follow the below tutorial to configure both machines to run in a Real Time Bidirectional synchronization.
http://www.peersoftw...isynctutor1.pdf
Once Configured start all 4 services (2 on each server)and you will see activity in the Run/View Current Profile Activity of each PeerSync Profiler.
You can also review the log files for the jobs, by going to Reporting (from the left menu tree) and Selecting View.
Please let us know if you still have questions.

Whoa!! I just bought PeersyncServer v7.3 with the aim of sync'ing Server A and Server B. I'm looking to add ByteLevelReplication because we have lots of Outlook PST's on the Source. RU telling me I need to by another edition of Peersync Server as well as 2 licenses of BLR?
Something ain't right here ... I would have expected I need EOFM and BLR on the source, PSListener on the Target and away I go. Am I jumping in on a thread, not knowing what I'm talking about? Wouldn't be the first time.

DemoDog,
If you are looking for real-time replication for Server A to server B for locked files and with byte-level replication in a unidirectional mode, you would require the following:
1 PeerSync Server Edition (For the source server in need of real-time event detection)
1 ByteReplicator (for the source PeerSync. This component comes with the Listener agent to be installed on the target)
1 Enhanced Package with EOFM (for the source PeerSync for backup of local locked files)
The configuration you read refers to version 72 licensing scheme and it refers to a real-time bi-directional mode configuration. In this scenario you would require the following:
2 PeerSync Server Edition (one for each server being watched in Real-Time)
2 ByteReplicator (one for each PeerSync Server)
1 Enhanced Package with EOFM for backup only, of locked files(bi-directional synchronization of locked files would not be available, you could only backup locked files not sync between the locked source and locked target file)
Please let me know if you have any other questions

Dear PS_Support,
i would like to get a clarification on something similar.
See the thing is we have got almost identical two servers(one is active and the other is standby)
We want the data on the Active server to be replicated real time using LAN onto the standby server.
So that whenever the active server goes down we can get the standby server up without losing any data.
Please suggest what can be done
P.S : We require the locked files to be replicated too.

Rahul Patel,
For your intended configuration, you would need to have PeerSync installed on the active server, with either the EOFM or VSS add-on module in order to backup locked files. More information on PeerSync Server and the available add-on features can be found at the link below:
