Hi-
One of our customers has their main office in a flood zone. While they have never actually lost systems due to flooding, they have been unable to get to the office for several days at a time and the power sometimes cuts out when storms hit the area.
They have asked us to formulate a plan to allow them to operate from an alternate location (one of the owner's homes) in the event the main office is inaccessible.
Their primary applications run off a Win2003 server with MS SQL. This same machine also hosts file shares for general office documents, accounting data, etc.
We recently installed a second server running Exchange 2007 (under Win2008 X64). While it would be nice to have replication of Exchange, this is less important than the business-critical apps running on the primary server.
The office is linked to the home over a VPN. We are considering either:
1) Win2003 server for primary apps only
2) VMWare box running two host O/S for the primary apps and Exchange
They are doing standard system backups, but would like to consider something "real time" that would allow them to be up and running from the alternate site very quickly.
What Peer solutions would be appropriate for these two scenarios?
Thank you.

Doug,
PeerSync Server edition will allow for real-time synchronization of your files from the primary server to the backup. The add-on EOFM feature for PeerSync will allow for backups of the open and in-use SQL database files on an interval basis (as low as every 30 minutes). More information can be found at the link below:

Our PeerDRS for SQL/Exchange products will allow for incremental backups to occur much closer to real-time. These backups can be configured on an interval as low as every minute for SQL and on a continuous capture basis for Exchange (as the logs are committed to disk). The link below contains more information on both DRS for SQL and Exchange:
