Hi,

I've noticed this new feature in the latest build: Enhanced Scanning

I was wondering if I would take any benefit from this new option with my setup:

I'm running a Peersync Server hub (Multi-thread option enabled) connecting to multiple remote sources over WAN links (ranging from 256kb -> 1Mb) using the Byte Replicator agents.

Thanks,

BDugailly,

A complete description of the new Enhanced Scanning feature in PeerSync 7.4 can be found at the link below:

This feature may benefit you by reducing the overall amount of time required for PeerSync to complete the scanning of your source and target folder structures. The actual increase in performance will depend on many factors (file/folder structure, available system/network resources, etc.) so I would recommend downloading a 15-day trial license of PeerSync 7.4 with the Enhanced Scanning option enabled, which will allow you to see firsthand the benefits of this feature in your environment. You can download this trial from the link below:

We have tested this new feature and performance improves significantly.

Scanning 101 Gb, 22927 folders over WAN (ADSL) link takes 4 hours with Enhanced Scanning:
Tree Depth=5
Multiple Job Threads=10
Multiple Copy Threads=15

The same scan without these features takes 10 hours and only 6700 of 22927 folders where scanned...

Regards,
JJ.-
