PeerSync Listener is a mandatory part of the ByteReplicator Option and has to be installed, configured, and running on the Target side before a successful Byte-Level synchronization can be run.
When using ByteReplicator, keep in mind that:
-The Source Path must point to a folder in a local drive letter
-The Target Path cannot be an FTP Target.
-The PSListener Service has been installed, set up, and is running on the Target Machine.
-The PeerSync license has an available Remote Connection License(s) with ByteReplicator.

See the PSLGuide document in the install directory of the Listener for more information on how to set up ByteReplicator and for detailed descriptions of its features.

To install and set up the PS Listener Service...
1. Run the Listener Installation file (plist10.exe). If you do not have the install file, obtain a copy of it from our website (http://www.peersoftware.com)
2. Install Listener as you would any program, but when you get to the "Select
Service Setup Options," be sure to choose "Install as a Service and Configure Now."
3. Press "Next" and on the following screen you should be prompted to enter the service log on information. Be sure to enter a valid domain, administrative account name and a valid password. Otherwise, the Listener Service may run into problems trying to start itself.
4. Finish installing Listener and on the final screen of the Installation, select "Show Services" (you may need to restart your computer after the install has completed).
5. In the Services window, find and highlight "PSListener Utility Software."
6. If Listener isn't started already, start it by right clicking on it and selecting "Start."
To set up Listener (after it has already been installed)...
1. Open the Services window (in Windows NT/2000/XP, go to the Start Menu, select "Program", then "Administrative Tools" and finally "Services").
2. Locate "PSListener Utility Software" in the list of services.
3. Right-click on it and go to "Properties."
4. Click on the "Log On" tab and within the tab, configure your log on settings. Be sure to enter a valid domain, administrative account name and a valid password. Otherwise, the Listener Service may run into problems trying to start itself.
5. Go back to the "General" tab and if Listener isn't already started, do so by pressing the "Start" button.
